Shop at the Pantry

The Bread of Life Food Pantry is open to clients for shopping on the first three Wednesdays of each month. An individual or family shopper can expect to receive an estimated 65 pounds of food per shopping trip which includes many or all of the following items. We also offer senior boxes to clients 60 years of age and over. On average, the pantry serves between 100-120 families each month.

Note: The Bread of Life Food Pantry has a limited ability to provide items for people with food allergies. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Volunteers stock shelves with food items at the Bread of Life Food Pantry. An individual or family shopper can expect to receive an estimated 65 pounds of food per shopping trip.

The Shopping Experience

The Shopping Experience

Upon entry at the pantry, shoppers are directed to a sign-in area by a volunteer. Clients are asked for proof of identity and residence on an annual basis for themselves and any dependents residing in the home. Acceptable forms of identification include a valid driver's license or recent utility bill.

After completing sign-in, clients are assigned a shopping number along with another number indicating the amount of people in their family. (These numbers are turned in at the last shopping station.) At this point, shoppers are asked to wait in the church's assembly room.

When your shopping number is called, clients enter the shopping cart area where a volunteer will escort you while you make your selections. To expedite the shopping process, clients are asked to bring their own bags or totes and shop in a timely manner to allow sufficient time for others who are waiting. All shopping clients should choose only the amount of goods that apply to their family size. When making selections, your assigned volunteer will assist in packing your goods and guiding your cart through the aisles. Only one shopper is permitted in an aisle at a time.

When finished, take your cart outside where one or more volunteers will help load your items into your car or ride. Because most shoppers can easily fill a shopping cart, please ensure to arrange for a ride or have adequate means to carry your selections home.
